This blog has been re-written so many times I have lost count. With me being without an actual group to play with "I only have two players currently", it has given me all kinds of free time (maybe too much time) to work on this campaign setting.
I have tried to learn the new Fantasy Flight Games rules and for the life of me I just cannot grasp them so finally I just gave up and stayed with what has held true for all these years. It has been many years since I have ran "any" game for a group, let alone a Star Wars game. I mostly have always ran Dungeons & Dragons games only so this Star Wars campaign is going to be a totally new beast to tackle plus with the fact this time around we are playing online with Roll20/Discord I am sure it will be much harder to manage than playing around a tabletop.As I have already stated on this blog, this campaign will start out just after the novel Bloodline and the formation of the Resistance. Everything that happens after Bloodline will not be in this campaign. Ben Solo "Kylo Ren" is not Han and Liea's son, I am going with Han Solo marries Princess Leia and they have three children: twins named Jacen and Jaina, and a younger son named Anakin. The actual stories behind these children may or may not be part of this campaign. I am really trying to stay away from the primary characters storys. Sure they all exist but I want to focus on regions and characters that are outside of the primary story.
Session one will only have my two core players playing - Joseph and Jennifer. Jennifer is playing an Outlaw Tech/Mechanic and Joseph is playing a Misunderstood Smuggler "you'll see lol". I hope once we do our initial opening adventure we can then pick up two additional players once I record our session and upload it to our Youtube channel. Starting out, the players are not part of the Resistance. I will not push this on them, it will be up to them to decide what they want to do. No matter what they choose it will not change the campaign story. They will start off basically as freelance characters but under the employ of a Hutt Gangster named Teemo the Hutt "not willingly of course - you can read each characters background here", and they will start out in the Escape From Mos Shuuta adventure "converted to D6 rules".
I am sure the campaign will probably have certain aspects of the sequels show up in my campaign, but the overall story will not be part of it. I hope once I finish this thing up that it will be something that can be enjoyed (playing and watching). The overall campaign will be homebrewed for the most part. What I would like to do is once they escape "if they are able I should say" then string a series of adventure togethers for them to keep progressing along with. I really cannot say much openly because my players visit this blog so we must keep everything top secret "they already know about the Escape From Mos Shuuta adventure so we can kind of openly talk about that.I am not sure if I want to introduce a Dark Jedi/Sith into this campaign. Seems like all the main stories revolve around the Sith and some evil Jedi trying to kill the good guys. Maybe this time I stay away from that and just go with a non Jedi setting. Who knows though, I have no idea how this thing will unfold ... it is hard to say how it will all go until we get into it because players have a way of throwing a monkey wrench into a GMs plans lol so lets just take this one step at a time.
